Court Issues Warrant for Former NPP Parliamentary Aspirant Collins Amoah Over GHS800,000 Tax Fraud
The Accra Circuit Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Collins Amoah, a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant for the Ablekuma Central Constituency, in connection with an alleged GHS800,000 fraud case at Tse Addo, Accra.
According to Chief Inspector Teye Okuffo, in June 2024, the complainant met Amoah and his associates, who allegedly persuaded him to hand over GHS800,000, promising to use their political influence to clear his tax debt with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
Trusting their assurances, the complainant, Ababio, handed over the money in the presence of witnesses, expecting his tax obligations to be settled. However, after receiving the funds, the accused failed to fulfill their promise and subsequently avoided the complainant.
